Details |
Linley's piano score of Robinson Crusoe, a pantomime scripted from Defoe by Richard Brinsley Sheridan and staged at Drury Lane in 1781. The music consists of an overture, a song, and 30 short action pieces. Though it retells Defoe's story, the pantomime can also be interpreted as an account of the Pacific dreamland of Cook's voyages. The publication includes Sheridan's wordbook. |
